I Wish You a Peaceful Christmas

Happy Holidays

I hope you
are among those
who gets to go home.
I wish you
love
like they show in
all the movies
where the child is neglected,
the family laughs
when reunited
forgiveness
flowing upward

Merry…
something
where wine flows but isn’t
necessary
and lights glow
a warm welcome instead
of a warning
More than presents
I wish you the presence
of those who bring you solace,
kindness
and soft places to rest

Seasons

sympathy

to those hiding,
crying tears of
solitary confinement
chosen
over tears of destruction
from words
looks
hands
history
I see you fighting
the urges of their
expectations
to offer yourself
as scapegoat for slaughter
again

I wish you the only thing
worth lonliness
I wish you peace.
